Day 2

Today I went on the giant swing. When I was getting pulled up I was a bit scared, then when I pulled on the blue string then I went flying. I also went on the bikes and it was very fun and I also went to see some animals.

We did more activities day 2. I went on the giant swing. I was scared. I didn’t want to do it. I waited and I was doing the rope. Then Max went on and I said “I’ll give it a go”. I went half way and I said “stop” but I regret not going to the top.

After breakfast I played a game of Ga Ga. It’s my favourite game. My fist activity is giant swing. I went the whole way to the top. I was not scared. I loved it. I got a wedgy, then I did cake, it was good. Then I went to bike education. I am really good.

OMG! I had the best time ever today. I went on the 4 activities and I went on the low ropes. I also went to the wild live encounter and the teachers thing and we also had the bikes. Oh and I am very proud of Ashley’s first bike ride. Well done Ash.

First we all woke up. We were awake by 7am and got ready and got ready for breakfast. We all went down for breaky at 7:30 and had toast, cereal, bacon and eggs. We finished and went back to the cabin and brushed teeth. Then the assembly bell rang and we got into our groups. First we had the “eco warriors”. We had a talk about the environment and then started digging up some weeds with these bulbs on the root on them. Bella and I were partners and we found HEAPS of bulbs. Second, we had the giant swing. I went the whole 18 metres high! I’m really proud. So is my mum. At fist it was scary. I got up to the top and I looked down and started having second thoughts. They started counting down and I pulled the blue rope. Nothing happened. Then I dropped. It was really scary but it was exciting too.

Today was the best because we had the giant swing. It was awesome because I went to the top. It felt a bit scary at the start but it was awesome. That was my favourite. My second favourite was the bikes because I came second in one. But the others I did not come in the top 5 because they were going too slow. My third favourite was low ropes. It was the hardest because the bark was like lava. And it was the hardest activity. It was the best day of camp so far.

Stories from camp day 1

Today when I got to camp we unpacked the bus and found out our cabins. We looked in the cabins and quickly got sorted. Firstly staff named Insy and Emily showed us around the camp but before we knew it it was lunch time. After lunch we got started in our group activity. The first activity I did was the low rope course it was challenging but also loads of fun. I also did the teacher activities, that was also lots of fun. We played tug of war, memory match and a game called Ga Ga. When we finished the activities we got to have some free time. I played basketball, volley ball, and a little bit of Ga Ga. I am looking forwards to loads more fun tomorrow.

Giant swings, wow! What a fun activity. My group the “koalas” were the first group to go on the giant swing. I went 16 metres high. I was getting scared. I yelled “STOP”!!! I pulled a blue cord that made me start swinging. I felt really cool when I got off. I wished I could go again and go to the top, 18 metres. My instructors were Trav and Emily. The parent was Shona, Remi’s mum. Mr Lincoln also came. I think the giant swing will be the best activity. It was sooooo much fun. I want to go on it again.

Today I got up at 7:00 for camp. Soon we were on the bus on our way to camp, it was long and boring on the bus. When we got there they explained all the rules. Then after we got our cabins ready. Then we had free time. The trees at camp were HUGE!! They were at least 20 metres tall.

Today I had a good time at YMCA. My favourite activity was Ga Ga. I also liked the animal activity but the feral cat was really freaky. For dinner we had chicken schnitzel, with potato and vegetables. For desert we had apple crumble. In the animal activity we got to see a frog, a snake, and some stuffed animals.

Today has been great. Firstly I went on the giant swing. It is 18 metres high and I went to the top. It was hard to get the equipment on. We had to put on a helmet, harness and goggles. We would get pulled up by a rope pulled by the other members of the group. You would get pulled up diagonally and pull a rope and swing. Next I went bike riding and we would ride down the driveway. Then we would try and ride as man laps of the oval in the ten minute time limit. I did 2 1/2 laps because my chain wasn’t working because I had 7 gear. Next we played games on our bike.

Camp is here! Finally! As we all gathered on to the bus, we had no idea what was going to hit us. After about fifty minutes into our trip we entered into some bushland. The trees were roughly thirty metres high. We all looked out the window to look for the campsite. After ten minutes we were there. After we had settled in and got our cabin groups and activity groups we got started with our first activity. I was in the snakes. We were doing the Wildlife encounter. As we walked in we could see that a taxidermist had been at work (that’s a person who stuffs animals). Me and Felicity took funny pictures with the animals. We learnt so much! After that we went with Insy (Winsy Spider) to show us Eco Warriors. We dug up weeds called Monty that had been introduced in Australia. They had bulbs on them. What an exciting first day!

Today when we arrived I was extremely excited because I had heard about the giant swing. I saw it and I said to everyone that I am going to go right to the top but I didn’t go on that today. I am going on it tomorrow. The activities I did today was the wildlife encounter and the eco warriors. The wildlife encounter was really fun. I saw heaps of stuffed animals. There was a lady who brought out some live animals. She brought out a snake called Freckles, a lizard called Diego, and a frog called Jumpy. I had so much fun! My group was called the snakes. Me and Elise took funny photos. I had so much fun, although I miss my parents.
